TATNEFT The projects submitted by the enterprises of TATNEFT Company became winners of the "Best 50 innovative ideas for the Republic of Tatarstan" contest in 2014. The awarding ceremony of the Xth republican contest "Best 50 innovative ideas for the Republic of Tatarstan" was held at the "Korston" Shopping and Entertainment Center in Kazan.
Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, attended the event. During the welcoming address at the award ceremony President of the Republic of Tatarstan pointed out that the there was a large number of innovative platforms in the Republic. Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that it was especially important these days that our country would be self-sustainable, and it could be done through innovation only.
1612 applications were filed to participate in the Xth Republican contest of innovative ideas organized by the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan in conjunction with the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic. The contest was held in eight categories: "Perspective", "Innovations in Education", "Start of innovations", "Nano-impulse", "Cooperation", "Social and economic development of the Republic of Tatarstan", "Best Invention of the Year" and "Association of Innovative Regions of Russia".
The winners in the category "Cooperation" were the following projects: "A method of operating wells" (RF Patent No. 2490436) by Ayrat Rakhmanov (NGDU "Almetyevneft»); "AVG-320 air cooler unit" by Mikhail Shvetsov (BMZ) and "Domestic water swellable packer" (cooperative engineering development byTatNIPIneft and ZAO QUART).
In the category "Best Invention of the Year" the following works were recognized as the best: "A method of operating the oilfield pipeline" (RF Patent No. 2490430) by Rustam Kalimullin (NGDU "Almetyevneft"); "A way of the wellbore penetration through clayish unstable rocks" by Albert Bachkov (NGDU "Aznakaevskneft"); "A method of changing filtration flows in layers with different permeability" by Marat Sayfutdinov (NGDU "Nurlatneft"); "A method for protecting delivery pipelines against internal corrosion" (RF Patent No. 2493481) by Alexander Evseev (Engineering Center of JSC TATNEFT); "A method of isolating water inflow into an oil producing well" by Vadim Ahmetgareev (TatNIPIneft).
In the category "Start of innovations" the winner projects were: "A lift tubing valve to vent gas" (RF Patent No. 141163) by Ruslan Absalyamov (NGDU "Almetyevneft"); "A scanning magnetic introscope for inspection of steel production strings of wells" by Sergei Dolgikh (TatNIPIneft); "Cement slurries with cellular glass" by Rustem Kateev (TatNIPIneft); "A way of developing the varying permeability zones reservoir by a horizontal well" by Albert Yagafarov (TatNIPIneft).

The contest "Fifty best innovative ideas for the Republic of Tatarstan" is held annually by the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan and Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan in order to stimulate innovation activities, promote intellectual achievements of the scientific and technical sphere professionals and facilitate the use of the intellectual potential of the regions of Russia and foreign countries in solving scientific, technical and socio-economic problems of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The contest involves projects aimed at solving the problems of scientific and technical, economic, social and human development of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The main criteria of the competitive selection include the project importance for the Republic of Tatarstan; the project conformity to the current level of science and technology development and the main priorities of socio-economic development of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as the possibility of the project commercialization.
