TatNIPIneft professionals of TATNEFT Company have developed 'RBK-M' technology for increasing the current crude oil production.

Application of the technology at the late stage of the crude oil field development presented by clastic and carbonate reservoirs demonstrates the increasing crude oil recovery factor.

The technological process is carried out by injecting a gelling system, which is a xanthane exopolysaccharide microbial origin biopolymer based composition, into the reservoir through injection wells. The resulting in-situ gel blocks most permeable watered zones, causing to the diversion of water movement in the less permeable oil saturated intervals, providing for a more complete extraction of crude oil from the non-stimulated sub-layers.

Advantages of the new technology include the use of new environmentally friendly chemicals and materials; high technological efficiency at a low cost of the injection process; resistance of solutions and gel-forming compositions applied to the saline water, etc.

The technology has been awarded the first-degree diploma in the category 'Innovative environmentally friendly technologies' of the International specialized exhibition 'Oil and Gas. Petrochemicals 2015'.
