They developed at the Bugulma Mechanical Plant of TATNEFT Company and successfully introduced chain drive PC 60, which allows performing crude oil production from two wells simultaneously with application of a single chain drivel.

The work on the technology had been carried out in close cooperation with professionals of NGDU Bavlyneft. The task set had been solved by joint efforts of the design and technological service of BMZ and the Chief Mechanical Office Department of NGDU Bavlyneft: they elaborated the required computational and design documentation, performed the necessary calculations, fabricated and assembled the prototype within the shortest possible time, which was tested on beam-balanced pumping units located at a distance of 15 meters from each.

The installation consists of a frame, roller units, a suspension bracket, steel wire rope and a take-up winder, When the counterweight of the chain drive goes up, the cables connecting the winder and the counterweight unwound from the driving pair of drums, imparting a rotary motion to them, which is transmitted to the driven pair of drums through the chain drive. In turn, the driven pair of drums winds up the ropes connected to the acceptor suspension, moving it upwards. Taking into account that different pairs of sprockets have different gear ratios, it is possible to change the length of the acceptor suspension stroke. Thus, when a polished rod returns to its lower position in one well free of any load, the same unit at the second well moves upwards, doing useful work.

When installed, the fixture for simultaneous crude oil production allows performing production from two wells at the same time using a single drive with the production rate of the two wells remaining unchanged. The installation also allows perfoming maintenance of one well, without stopping the production at the second one. Such a chain drive can boast of a small metal capacity and its usage allows avoiding the purchase and maintenance of expensive equipment in the form the second CD and essentially reducing the specific energy costs.

There were 10 units such chain drives manufactured in 2016, which provided for production of more than 10,000 tonnes of crude oil as of now, while the electricity saved amounted to more than 714,560 kW / h.

The chain drives of the TATNEFT Company's Bugulma Mechanical Plant were awarded the IIIrd degree diploma in the nomination 'Energy-saving Technologies and Equipment' at the International Specialized Exhibition 'Oil, Gas. Petrochemical Industry-2017'.
