"We were each living with our parents and were really struggling to afford to get on to the property ladder together.
"Ashley's uncle suggested we looked into new builds because there were some great incentives to be had, so we did some research and ended up using Help to Buy which was a great option - the 5% deposit really opened up the market to us, otherwise the door would have remained closed.
"We liked how logical and well-designed the flat looked on the plans. We were impressed by the detail such as where the plugs were positioned and the exact point where trees would be placed outside. There were six flats in the block and we had the last one. They were very popular!
"When we first got to see the flat after it had been built we were delighted because it felt a lot bigger than it had looked on the plans. We really liked the finish of the rooms, especially the kitchen where we'd selected cream doors and wooden worktops, with mosaic cream and grey tiles from the Taylor Wimpey interior Options range.
"We've turned the main bedroom into my office and we sleep in the second bedroom which is nearly just as big, so it works really well for us. We have a tortoise, Gonzo, who's five and loves to explore the hall and office area during the day. It's nice when I can hear her little feet tapping while I'm working.
"The location of the development is key for us. We're nearby to the school where Ashley teaches, we've got Bletchley close by where you can pop out to get everyday items, and Milton Keynes is just a bit further up the road for major shopping trips while it's also easy to catch a train into London.
"It's a great place to live, and it's been nice to see the development grow further since we've moved in - it makes us feel like an established part of the community. There's a really nice lake in the middle of the development and there are plans to build a school and shops here, so we're excited to see how it's going to grow in the future."
