Telekom Malaysia Berhad : TM SME BIZFEST 2014 MAKES IT FINAL STOP IN SARAWAK!

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) today officially ended TM SME BizFest 2014 with its last stop in the land of the hornbills, Sarawak with the event being held at the Borneo Convention Centre, Kuching, Sarawak. Themed "Innovate To Dominate", the event was previously held at Petaling Jaya, Johor Bahru and Penang. 

The event was officiated by YB Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Minister of Housing and Minister of Tourism Sarawak, accompanied by Azizi A Hadi, Executive Vice President, SME, TM.

SME BizFest 2014, already in its third year, is specially designed for SMEs, targeted at Malaysian entrepreneurs consisting of Micro and Small businesses including those who are operating their business from home.

SME BizFest 2014 is a specially-tailored showcase to bring together SMEs on a platform to increase their knowledge on how ICT will greatly benefit and empower their businesses. With its core components of business conference, knowledge sharing and networking sessions, as well as exhibition, SME BizFest 2014 provides opportunity for them to connect with others, learn and acquire the latest information in the market to cater for their business requirements. 

Commenting on the event, Azizi shared, "As indicated in a National Economic Census by the Department of Statistics, Sarawak has a total of 43,830 or 6.8 per cent SME establishments. Being one of the top five (5) states with the highest number of SME establishments in the country, we see that SMEs in Sarawak has huge potentials to grow, given the right platform and ICT resources. The main highlights of the event apart from exhibitions were the business conference sessions named "Biz Spot" sessions; conducted by six (6) speakers from various fields. Among the essential business topics covered in the business conference include Motivational, ICT & Your Business, Financial Aids and E-commerce Success Stories. This session was facilitated by Datuk Abang Haji Abdul Karim Tun Abang Haji Openg, President Sarawak Chamber of Commerce.
