Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) is rescheduling the implementation of e-billing (e-Bill) as the default billing for its broadband (Streamyx and UniFi) customers from January 2016 to July 2016. Currently, e-Bill is an option that is encouraged for all customers to adopt.

With e-Bill, broadband customers will be notified of their monthly bill faster, where they will receive the pdf copy of the monthly bill via email within four (4) days and SMS alert within seven (7) days after the respective bill date.

The introduction of the e-Bill as the default billing for broadband customers come July 2016 is in line with the industry's move towards a more digital lifestyle and as a step towards a greener and eco-friendly future. With e-bill, all broadband services (Streamyx and UniFi) customers will be receiving their bills electronically for free, via Short Message Service (SMS) and email‎. Customers will also be able to access the e-bill via the TM Portal at https://mytm.tm.com.my anytime, anywhere, where they can retrieve and view their itemised TM bills of the last six (6) months.

'We believe this move towards e-Bill provides a more convenient, secure and environmentally friendly way of delivering the monthly bill statement to our broadband customers. As the nation's Convergence Champion, TM is committed to deliver a seamless digital experience to our customers towards 'Life and Business Made Easier for a Better Malaysia',' says Imri Mokhtar, Executive Vice President, Consumer and SME, TM.

Commenting on the rescheduling of the implementation, Imri said, 'At TM, customers' feedback is extremely important to us and we have, and will continue to take all feedback received thus far, and going forward into consideration. We are currently refining the implementation process towards the introduction of e-Bill in July 2016. Until then, broadband customers will continue to receive their printed bill free of charge.'

In order to facilitate the implementation of the e-Bill, TM has already started communicating to customers since June 2015, and are calling for all its broadband customers to update their preferred email address and mobile number by sending an email to help@tm.com.my, or visit the nearest TMpoint outlet or call TM Contact Centre at 100. Those who do not sign up for e-Bill by 1st July 2016 will continue to receive their printed bills at a nominal monthly fee of RM2.

To date, over 700,000 out of more than 4.4 million TM residential customer base are already on e-Bill statements.

Meanwhile, TM customers subscribing only to its telephone service (without broadband) will continue to receive the printed bill for free. Nonetheless, TM encourages these customers to opt for the e-Bill by signing up via the same channels made available for broadband customers.
