Telenor : Henrik Clausen appointed CEO of DiGi in Malaysia

04/07/2010 | 06:25 am

(Kuala Lumpur/Fornebu, 7 April 2010) - DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd today
announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Henrik Clausen as the
company's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Henrik Clausen will succeed Mr.
Johan Dennelind who leaves DiGi on May 17(th).

Henrik Clausen has for the last five years served as CEO of Telenor in Denmark.
He has held the position as CEO since Telenor acquired the Danish broadband
provider Cybercity in 2005, a company where Mr. Clausen served as CEO since
2000.

"I am pleased that Henrik has accepted the position as CEO of DiGi. I am
confident that DiGi will benefit from his telecoms knowledge and management
skills, which have proven successful in Denmark," said Sigve Brekke, Head of
Telenor in Asia and Chairman of the Board of Directors of DiGi.com Bhd.

"I look forward to being part of DiGi and the mobile business in Asia. Although
it is sad to leave Telenor in Denmark, heading DiGi in Malaysia is an honour and
an offer I could not refuse," said Henrik Clausen upon his appointment.

"DiGi has a significant market presence and a strong challenger position in
Malaysia. It is a strong competitor in the Malaysian mobile and internet market.
The company remains one of Malaysia's leading employers of choice, and is highly
regarded for its engagement in corporate responsibility," Clausen added.

Mr. Clausen has previously held positions as Partner in Andersen Consulting and
Partner in AT Kearney in Denmark. He also holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Master in
electrical engineering from the Technical University of Denmark and a degree in
foreign trade from Copenhagen Business School.

Mr. Clausen will succeed Mr. Johan Dennelind who has been with DiGi for 6 years,
including as CEO since early 2008. Mr. Dennelind has previously also held
positions as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) in
DiGi, in addition to various management positions at Telenor Sweden, including
Deputy Chief Executive Officer and CFO.

"The Board of Directors would like to thank Johan for his excellent and
dedicated contribution to the company. During Johan's leadership tenure, DiGi
has established itself as a company with a solid presence in the Malaysian
mobile market and is highly acknowledged amongst investors for its focus on
corporate governance and shareholder value creation. Johan hands over a company
with a clear vision and a well established strategy," said Sigve Brekke. "I
would like to wish him all the best in his future endeavours".

"After six very rewarding years, leaving DiGi and Malaysia will naturally be
difficult, but now the timing was right for me to move on to new challenges. I
am proud to leave a company with a solid platform for future growth, all truly
centred on the customer. DiGi is today powered by some of the most talented
employees in Malaysia, and has an experienced and capable management team that I
will deeply miss," said Johan Dennelind. "I want to express my warm welcome and
support to Henrik Clausen, and I wish him and all DiGizens the best in taking
DiGi to the next level."
