Pertamina Hulu Energi West Madura Offshore (PHE WMO), an Indonesian oil and gas company, selected 9 5/8" TenarisHydril Blue® connections with Dopeless® technology to achieve improved efficiency in compliance with its health, safety and environmental standards in the West Madura Offshore Development Project.

This oil and gas development is located in the Madura Strait, at a water depth of about 200 feet, in a challenging area characterized by tropical weather conditions, with heavy rains and high humidity.

PHE WMO successfully ran TenarisHydril Blue® Dopeless® connections in three wells, reducing running times by 16%. TenarisHydril Blue® connections offer 100% fully tested pipe body rated seal and excellent overtorque capacity. Dopeless® technology is a dry, multifunctional coating that makes thread and running compounds obsolete. It is applied at Tenaris mills in a fully automatic process that ensures that the exact amount of lubricant is used. Dopeless® technology minimizes the risk of make-up problems, nearly eliminating re-make-ups and rejects. With this solution, running times can be reduced up to 25%. These improvements in rig time efficiency can save about 10% of the total pipe cost in offshore operations.
