Following its contribution to the Canadian Chamber of Commerce's Resource Cities initiative in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Tenaris sponsors the Chamber's Québec Leaders Energy Tour of Alberta from October 12-14, 2016.

'Canada has vast oil and gas resources with an industry committed to the highest standard of health, safety and environmental responsibility,' explains David McHattie, Institutional Relations Director, Canada. 'Connecting resource cities like Grande Prairie and Sault Ste. Marie, through a competitive domestic manufacturing supply chain, shares the value of developing oil and gas resources with Canadians beyond Alberta.'

Leaders from Québec will join Albertans in a three-day tour that encompasses Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie and Calgary. Delegates will learn about the innovative processes and technologies used to develop oil and gas through field visits, facility tours and community interaction.

As a principal sponsor of the event, Tenaris will be an important part of the information exchange between leaders. Aurele Gingras, Regional Manager of Procurement, Canada for Exiros, will deliver a keynote address in Grande Prairie on energy sector supply chains and Tenaris's role in linking resource cities through its manufacturing and services.

Tenaris is currently building a new service center in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The multi-year investment of $20 million will handle the supply of oil country tubular goods and accessories through Rig Direct™ services. The investment will strengthen the connection between Tenaris manufacturing locations and its valued customers in the field.

Other sponsors of the Québec Leaders Energy Tour include Seven Generations Energy, Suncor, ConocoPhillips and TransCanada. Joining the community in Grande Prairie are Alberta Energy Minister Margaret McCuaig Boyd, member of the Alberta Legislature Wayne Drysdale, Grande Prairie Mayor Bill Given, County of Grande Prairie Reeve Leanne Beaupre, Wembley Mayor Chris Turnmire and Beaverlodge Mayor and Alberta Royalty Review panel member Leona Hanson.
