The Amazonas 3 telecommunications satellite, recently successfully launched from the European spaceport in Kourou in French Guiana, embarks Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TTC) data communication and radio frequency equipment for the telecommunications payload, developed and supplied by Thales Alenia Space España.

Amazonas 3 is based on the SSL 1300 platform, and is located at the orbital position of 61 degrees west, and will replace and expand the current capabilities of the Amazon 1 located in the same orbital position, an area heavily demanded!

Thales Alenia Space España is a long-standing supplier of satellite communications systems and equipment to the American market, mainly for data communications and radio-frequency systems and equipment. It is currently working with the U.S. space industry on the construction of ten communication satellites. This makes it the leading exporter to the United States in the Spanish space industry. The Spanish company has worked to date providing communications systems and equipment for 8 out of 10 Hispasat in orbit satellites (*).

"We are proud for the successful launch" said Juan Garcés de Marcilla, President and CEO of Thales Alenia Space España. Who also said "we are satisfied with the excellence competitiveness developed in foreign markets, particularly in the difficult U.S. market where we work with leading space companies, as the number one exporter of the Spanish space industry"
