Following an international competitive tender, NATS, the UK's main air navigation service provider, have chosen Thales to supply their new  Safety Nets Server. The technology will be deployed at Swanwick and  Prestwick Air Traffic Control Centres, as well as at NATS' Corporate  Technical Centre and will be integrated into a fully virtualised  environment.

Based on the Thales TopSky-Safety Nets system, this innovative technology guarantees earlier conflict detection and a lower nuisance  alert rate than standard safety nets. It is anticipated that TopSky-Safety  Nets will help extend NATS's outstanding safety record.

This contract underscores Thales's leading position in the provision of air traffic management systems in Europe.

Thales is proud to partner with NATS and aspires to their vision for the future of air traffic management in Europe. This contract is evidence of  Thales's edge in delivering components perfectly integrated into the  actual ATC system and virtualised ATM solutions.

NATS joins over 40 Air Navigation Service Providers across the globe that have already chosen TopSky-Safety Nets for their ATC centres.  Thales is the leading manufacturing industry contributor to SESAR and  its TopSky-Safety Nets are used extensively in SESAR validations and  are fully compliant with ICAO Aviation System Block Upgrades, Block 0  and 1.
