Oliver Dörre new Vice President Sales & Marketing
Elke Vollrath new Director Political Affairs

Ditzingen, 28th November 2016 - Oliver Dörre (47) is the new Vice President Sales & Marketing with responsibility for Sales and Marketing activities of Thales Deutschland and for Key Account Management. He succeeds Thomas Vorwerk who left the company. Dörre reports to Dr. Christoph Hoppe, the chairman of Thales Deutschland.

'Oliver Dörre is a highly experienced manager who has already dealt with major challenges for Thales Deutschland in the last one and a half years through his extended national and international sales experience and customer contact', Dr. Christoph Hoppe commented on the appointment. 'We are pleased that we could win him over for this important strategic position in our company with the key objective of the profitable leverage of the Thales strengths, namely our combination of leading technology and customer proximity', Hoppe continued.

'Especially in the segment Defence we are facing major challenges in mobile tactical communications, tactical air defence or the new navy ships in Germany, which will have a decisive impact on our business for the years or even decades to come', said Oliver Dörre. 'At the same time we want to make a significant contribution to the digitisation of the areas of security and transport. I am aware of the responsibility attached to my new duties and would like to sustainably establish Thales Deutschland in cooperation with the management team as a reliable partner of our customers nationally and internationally.' Oliver Dörre works for Thales Deutschland since April 2015, last as divisional manager of Country Business Unit Secure Communications & Information Systems (SIX). This function will be assumed by Jens Nielsen (54), COO and Vice President Operations Thales Deutschland, in addition to his present position within the corporation. Jens Nielsen also reports to Dr. Christoph Hoppe.

On 1st January 2017 Elke Vollrath (50) assumes leadership of the office of Thales Deutschland in the capital city Berlin as Director Political Affairs. She succeeds Michael Rother who left the company. Vollrath reports to Dr. Christoph Hoppe, with the new Vice President Sales & Marketing being her technical supervisor.
Curriculum Vitae Oliver Dörre
Prior to joining Thales the graduate computer scientist from the Universität der Bundeswehr München (Military University in Munich) worked for Frequentis AG where he held various management positions since 2010. As Defense Business Unit Manager, lately he has been responsible for international military sales, project and product management, and development in the area of Defense.

From 1988 to 2010 Oliver Dörre served as an Air Force general staff officer in the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) - most recently as deputy head of unit with the rank of lieutenant colonel in general staff service at the Ministry of Defense's Planning Department. During his military career he's completed several staff tours in the area of capability management and information technology as well as operational and management tours in the anti-aircraft missile force. Various awards such as the Cross of Honor of the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) in gold and the Carl von Clausewitz Medal of Honour underscore his commitment. Oliver Dörre is married and the father of two children.

Curriculum Vitae Elke Vollrath
After training as a court clerk, Elke Vollrath initially worked as administrative clerk in the office of the Federal Chancellery (chancellor's office) in Bonn. She studied law in Bonn and Berlin and then worked as office administrator and member of the scientific staff for several members of the German parliament. In addition to office administration, her work focused on content support for the parliamentary activities of the respective members of parliament.
