Managed by The Link Management Limited ("The Link"), Lok Fu Market has distinguished itself from other retailers through its excellent and innovative customer services to become the first fresh market ever to win the Hong Kong Awards for Industries: Customer Service Grand Award. The award recognises The Link's creative notion of "retailisation" of fresh market services. George Hongchoy, Chief Executive Officer of The Link, attended the 2014 Hong Kong Awards for Industries presentation ceremony and remarked, "The award recognises The Link's innovation and creativity in operating fresh markets. As one of the key fresh market owners in Hong Kong, The Link plays a significant role in promoting and sustaining Hong Kong's unique fresh market culture. Using Lok Fu Market as the blueprint, we will continue to implement renovation and revitalisation projects at our fresh markets with the goal of attracting more shoppers by improving our customer service level."

The asset enhancement programme of The Link's Lok Fu Market was completed in 2013. To take customer service to the next level, The Link benchmarked its customer service against retail industry best practices, introduced numerous customer-centric services such as providing convenient trolleys and shopping baskets, and appointed nearby residents as ambassadors. In addition, a customer service counter offering various services, including umbrella loaning, mobile phone charging and photocopying has been provided. The Link also upgraded the interior of the market by widening corridors and revamping drainage and ventilation systems to create a more comfortable shopping environment. These customer-oriented services and enhanced shopping facilities have increased the footfall of the market and attracted more young customers, bringing new business opportunities to tenants and helping to sustain traditional fresh market culture.

Championed by the Government, the Hong Kong Awards for Industries was launched in 2005 to recognise the achievements of Hong Kong enterprises across six categories. A Grand Award is presented to the most outstanding entry in each category every year, and the Customer Service category, organised by the Hong Kong Retail Management Association, aims to recognise and encourage excellence in the service industries.
