On October 7, 2015, Tokyo Electric Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO) (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Naomi Hirose) and SoftBank Corp. (SoftBank) (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Ken Miyauchi) signed the basic agreement toward a business partnership in joint sales of electricity as well as telecommunications and internet services.

With this business partnership, TEPCO and SoftBank plan to jointly provide electricity as well as telecommunications and internet services through mobile phones and optic fiber across the country, using about 2,600 SoftBank shops nationwide (as of the end of 2014) and TEPCO's free membership website for households, 'Living Platform (a tentative name).'

In addition, both companies will collaborate on the planning and development of new services that will create additional value to be 'Reliable, Safe and Reasonable' for our customers.

TEPCO and Softbank will continue with further discussions to provide exciting products and services that will be highly valued by and satisfy our customers in preparation for the full liberalization of retail electricity sales in April 2016.
