Press release 27 March 2017 Changes in the Villeroy & Boch AG Supervisory Board Yves Elsen succeeds Wendelin von Boch-Galhau as Chairman

Following the Villeroy & Boch AG Annual General Meeting, the Supervisory Board has elected Yves Elsen as the new Chairman of the group's Supervisory Board. He takes over the role from Wendelin von Boch-Galhau, whose term of office as a member of the Supervisory Board ended regularly at the close of this year's Annual General Meeting. Following on from his role as Chairman of the Management Board, Wendelin von Boch-Galhau was a member of the Supervisory Board from 2007 onwards. In 2009, he took over as Chairman of this Board. The current Chairman of the Villeroy & Boch AG Management Board, Frank Göring, thanked Mr Boch-Galhau for his many committed years of service. "Our working relationship was always very constructive - and successful," said Mr Göring, looking back over positive development of the business in past years.

Yves Elsen is a native of Luxembourg and has been a member of the Villeroy & Boch AG Supervisory Board since 2013. He holds a degree in engineering (Dipl. Ing.) and is Managing Partner and CEO of the technology company HITEC Luxembourg S.A. For more than 30 years, Mr Elsen has been campaigning for research, development and innovation as the foundation for sustainable business development. Since 2016, he has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the University of Luxembourg. Following his unanimous election as Chairman of the Villeroy & Boch AG Supervisory Board, Mr Elsen commented: "This election commits me to continuously steering this great and traditional company on a successful course. It gives me great pleasure and joy to take on, together with the Supervisory Board, this responsible task."

Dr. Renate Neumann-Schäfer has been elected to the Supervisory Board as the new shareholder representative. Dr. Neumann-Schäfer has been Managing Director of Putzmeister Holding GmbH and Putzmeister Concrete Pumps GmbH in Aichtal near Stuttgart since 2009 and also holds positions on the Putzmeister group's control committees outside Germany.

Susanne Ollmann has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 13 December 2016 through a ruling of the District Court. The Villeroy & Boch employee was elected to the Supervisory Board by the electoral meeting of Villeroy & Boch AG management employees. The Head of Shared Service Center Accounting replaced Bernhard Thömmes as employee representative.
