Webster Bank Optimization Set for Fourth Quarter
WATERBURY, Conn., October 17, 2014 - Webster Bank, a leading regional bank serving businesses and consumers in the northeast, will continue the process of optimizing its banking center network to better serve its customers. Webster is moving one of its Bristol banking centers to a more convenient location and combining a Longmeadow, Mass., site with a nearby one.
In December, the banking center at 647 Farmington Avenue in Bristol will move across the very same plaza at
575 Farmington Avenue, where it will be combined with what is today a drive-up only location.
The new, state-of-the-art banking center in Bristol will be 3,600 square feet and feature Webster's new "pod" system instead of a traditional teller line to provide an open space that's conducive to more personal interaction; 24-hour walk-up deposit automated ATM; electronic coin-counting machine; and digital video displays. As with Webster's other banking center locations, universal bankers will serve as a single point of contact for consumer and business needs.
"The major renovation in Bristol is just the latest example of our commitment to investing in our communities in ways," said Nitin Mhatre, executive vice president and head of community banking. "Our customers' preferences and expectations are constantly evolving, and we will continue to make investments that enable us to live up to their needs by delivering a broad range of financial products and services with personalized, exceptional service across all channels."
Additionally, the Longmeadow, Mass., location will be consolidated into the East Longmeadow banking center on October 17, less than five miles away at 62 Center Square. It offers a drive-up window, drive-up ATM, and extended hours not available in Longmeadow. Webster remains committed to serving the needs and providing exceptional service to customers in Longmeadow, by maintaining an ATM there, as well as providing these customers with special product offers, to help ensure a smooth transition to the new location.
