Webster Banker Receives Leadership Award

WATERBURY, Conn., May 26, 2015- Webster Bankis pleased to announce that Cheryl Poryanda, senior vice president, market manager, Community Bank at Webster, received the 2015 Leadership Award from Women and Families Center. The "In the Company of Leaders" event was held on May 8, and also honored New Haven Mayor Toni Harp.
Living up to the communities she serves, Poryanda has a long standing partnership with the United Way of Meriden-Wallingford. For more than 20 years, she's held various leadership roles ranging from a loaned executive to president of the board of directors. She currently serves on the board and is the chair of the allocations process panel. In addition to these roles, Poryanda volunteers as a United Way reader in the Hartford Public School system, facilitates seminars on elder financial abuse prevention, and has helped a team of Webster bankers "adopt-a-family" during the holiday season for the past 10 years.
A native of Meriden and current resident of Prospect, Conn., Poryanda earned her Bachelor's Degree Business
Management from Central Connecticut State University.
