Since global.weir was launched in February I'm pleased to say that feedback on the new site has been very positive. This has been further enhanced by reports from two of the UKs most respected digital consultancies outlining the impact the site has had on our digital presence.

In June Radley Yeldar, published their 2016 Standout Digital Survey which evaluated the web sites of every company in the FTSE 350 (the list of the 350 largest publicly listed companies in the UK) and I'm pleased to say that global.weir was ranked 28th, which is a great achievement. The survey focused on content and user experience, which makes our ranking (higher than RBS, BAE, Babcock and Aggreko to name but a few) even more rewarding as these were areas we were especially focused on improving from the outset of the project.

Radley Yeldar also recently published an insight paper examining how organisations within the construction and engineering sectors were approaching digital transformation and the Weir website was ranked 2nd in their list of 'who uses digital communication well'. They described global.weir as a 'simple website experience which addresses core audience needs'.

Investis, an international, digital corporate communications company published their annual digital presence rankings in April and, again, I'm pleased to say that global.weir performed well. We were ranked 5th out of 61 companies in our sector (industrial engineering) and 26th in the FTSE 250. These rankings measured global.weir against 200 different criteria covering social media connections, mobile functionality, content, usability and multimedia. Global.weir achieved an overall score of 61% which was 6% above the peer average.

Receiving such positive feedback is great, especially when the new site has only been live for 6 months, but the real work is only just beginning. We're currently evaluating how the site is being used by examining analytics and carrying out dedicated user testing, the results from which will inform how the site is developed over the coming months. Encouragingly we've also seen an increase in the number of enquiries we're getting through the site since launch and we're developing ways to manage these in a more effective way to ensure customers' are given access to the information and experts they need as quickly as possible.

Last month Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish and French translation options were added to the site ensuring that users whose first language isn't English can easily access information on our products and services too.

As always if you have any feedback on global.weir please leave a comment or get in touch with me directly.
