Ephrata Beer Cafe Now Open for Business

Wednesday, February 25th, 2015

On Friday, Feb. 20, Weis Markets received final Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) approval to open a beer café in its Ephrata, Pa. store located at 331 N. Reading Road. Associates began stocking shelves and coolers after receiving the approval and the café opened for business Monday, Feb. 23.

The 30-seat beer café sells beer for both on premise consumption and take-out. It offers nearly 600 varieties, including an extensive collection of local craft beers. A pale ale and double IPA brewed by Saint Boniface Craft Brewing Company, located on West Main Street in Ephrata, will be sold at the café, along with local craft beers from Lancaster Brewing Company and Stoudts Brewing Company.

The café is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to midnight and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. The café is part of a larger store remodel, which included an expanded prepared meals section, an increased selection of organic and gluten-free products in the fresh and grocery departments and all new décor.

This is the second Weis Markets beer café to open in Lancaster County. The company currently operates a beer café in Lititz and plans to open a third cafe at its Red Rose Commons store.
