Willdan congratulates the City of Westlake Village for receiving an APWA B.E.S.T. Transportation award for the Lindero Canyon Road Bridge.

The City's traffic management plan has focused since 1991 on roadway improvements to the Lindero Canyon Road interchange at the US 101, the only freeway entry in the City and the corridor gateway serving traffic from the Cities of Thousand Oaks, Oak Park and Agoura Hills into L.A. and Ventura Counties. The redesigned overpass adds a travel lane in each direction, traffic signal and signing/striping improvements, seismic retrofits and a safer pedestrian/bike path.

A unique feature is the stunning mural that illustrates the surrounding mountains and Westlake Lake, in addition to beautiful detail on the bridge barriers, walkways and landscaping. The mural, over a mainline freeway, is the first of its kind.

Willdan is pleased to have been involved in multiple aspects of this project through many stages: Project Study Report, environmental impact report, bridge deck repair design, traffic staging plans, Local Assistance Program project permit assistance, and PS&E and storm water data report for the project through Caltrans District 7 for permitting.

Pictured at APWA awards ceremony are: (L-R): City Manager Ray Taylor, Councilmember Kelly Honig, City Engineer John Knipe, Mayor Pro Tem Brad Halpern.
