Rio Tinto Plans to Appoint Dominic Barton as Chairman, FT Reports

--Rio Tinto could announce the appointment of Dominic Barton as chairman as early as next week, the Financial Times reports.

--Mr. Barton is Canada's ambassador to China, and was managing director of McKinsey from 2009 to 2018.

--Mr. Barton's links to China and experience chairing Teck Resources are seen as rational for the appointment, the FT reports.
