O'Leary, who is Group Chief Executive at Europe's largest airline by passenger numbers, also said the airline had seen a "very strong rebound" in non-leisure travel to lower wage parts of central, east and south Europe, which he attributed to the replacing of Asian supply chains.

He said he was concerned about the price of oil but that it was impossible to say if it would impact the profit outlook for the year.
