Cosma Onorio Gelsomino

Mr. Cosma Onorio Gelsomino is Head of Financial Risk Management Directorate at Banca d'Italia .
He joined the Banca d'Italia in 1978.
After a period at the Caserta branch, Mr. Gelsomino's entire career has been at the Head Office in Rome, where over the years he has been engaged in the analysis of liquidity in the banking system, the management of refinancing operations, research on the history of the Bank and the Italian financial system, and the management of the Bank's financial portfolio.
In 1999 he was assigned to the Asset Management Department, of which he became Head in 2006.
In December 2008 he was appointed Head of the Risk Management Department.
As from 27 January 2014, Mr. Gelsomino's position is Head of the Financial Risk Management Directorate.
He has written on the history of the Bank of Italy and of Italian monetary policy, on the money market, and on the instruments for the management of financial Mr. Gelsominp received a degree in Law from the University of Naples in 1975 and a degree in Economics and Business, also at Naples, in 1983.
