David Moran

David Moran is a Managing Director and Head of Income Strategies at Gallatin.
Mr. Moran leads Gallatin’s professionals responsible for analyzing the risks and returns of illiquid securities in structured finance, project finance, specialized real estate and distressed or special situation assets that are difficult to place in traditional markets.
Prior to joining Gallatin, Mr. Moran served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Peak 8 Asset Management.
He has more than two decades of investing experience in alternative credit markets.
Before starting Peak 8, Mr. Moran spent 16 years developing and managing an alternative credit business as President of PartnerRe Principal Finance.
At PartnerRe, he was responsible for a business investing over $4 billion in high yield illiquid assets.
Mr. Moran began his career as a Director for Swiss Re New Markets, where he was responsible for starting and leading an effort to finance and invest in non-standard asset-backed risks.
He holds a BS in Finance from the University of Connecticut and an MBA in Finance from New York University.
