Matthew Maloney

Mr. Matthew Maloney, CFA, is a Partner & Head of Public Credit at Gramercy Funds Management LLC.
He is also a Senior Portfolio Manager of the firm.
He joined Gramercy in October 2014 and is Co-Head of Gramercy’s trading desk.
He has over 21 years of trading and investment management experience predominantly in emerging markets.
Along with Mr. Tackney, he manages a dynamic trading desk spanning performing and distressed corporates and sovereigns, as well as credit default swaps and currency hedges.
He is a key member of the Alternatives portfolio management team.
Further, as Co-Head of the trading desk he is charged with building and maintaining effective relationships with the Street in order to facilitate firm-wide trade execution, asset sourcing, new issue allocations, and idea generation.
He is a member of the Investment Committee, Alternatives Allocation Committee and EMD Asset Allocation Committee.
Prior to Gramercy, Mr. Maloney worked for 10 years as an emerging markets trader at Credit Suisse in the Fixed Income Division.
Prior to Credit Suisse, he was employed by Maloney Commodity Services (MCS) as an analyst.
At MCS, he helped launch an absolute return hedge fund affiliated with State Street Global Finance.
Mr. Maloney received his Masters in Economics and International Affairs with an Emerging Markets Concentration from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and his BA in History with a Latin American Studies Concentration from the College of the Holy Cross.
Additionally, he is a CFA Charter holder.
