Mr. Michael J.
Brown, CFA, is a Portfolio Manager at Bloom Burton Investment Group, Inc. He has over 20 years of experience in portfolio management and is responsible for the Partnership’s regulatory, Mr. Brown was the CEO and Portfolio Manager of Scale Capital Management Inc., a special situations fund that focused on opportunities from significant corporate events or drastic market movements.
Before launching Scale in 2015, he was the Portfolio Manager and Chief Compliance Officer at Ballast Healthcare Partners Inc., a value-driven lifescience equity fund.
At Ballast, he was responsible for regulatory compliance while advising on the design and risk management of the portfolio.
Prior to Ballast, he worked at Spartan Fund Management where he was involved in the management of multiple funds including a merger arbitrage fund and a real estate fund.
He was previously a Managing Director and Partner of Enterprise Capital Management, an alternative investment manager focused on mid-cap Canadian equities in multiple industries.
Before joining Enterprise, he was a research associate on the proprietary trading desk of Scotia McLeod.
He graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Master’s Degree in Science and Business and holds the CFA charter.
