Brakes India Pvt Ltd. manufactures automotive and non-automotive braking systems and ferrous castings. It operates through the following divisions: brakes, foundry, and polymer. The brakes division produces and exports brake products and castings for passenger cars and utility vehicles; light and heavy commercial vehicles; and tractor and off highway brakes. The foundry division includes permanent mould ferrous castings, grey iron, and spheroidal graphite iron castings using the disamatic process. The polymer division comprises of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polyamide, polybutyleneterephthalate, polyoxymethylene, polypropylene, and polycarbonate plus ABS. The company was founded on November 9, 1962 and is headquartered in Chennai, India.
