Bob holds an AB from Harvard and a JD from Columbia University.

Previously, Bob served on the boards of Citigroup, Rockwell International, Sequus Pharmaceuticals, NYSE Euronext and Silicon Graphics, and also as a trustee of Barnes-Jewish Hospital (St. Louis) and Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Chicago).
He has also served on the President’s Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and on the White House Domestic Policy Review of Industrial Innovation.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
