Offshore wind in the North Sea is set to become a major component in Europe's alternative energy plans, and to be a growth industry for the next few decades. Two of the main challenges facing offshore wind are the need to reduce cost and a structural shortage of capacity of critical components. TAG Energy Solutions makes a significant contribution to the solution of both of these concerns. It has re-developed the famous Haverton Hill shipyard on the River Tees in Cleveland and will operate a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for the construction of subsea foundations for offshore wind turbines.
