* Haleon rises after higher annual revenue forecast

* LSE Group falls on in-line annual earnings

* FTSE 100 up 0.2% and FTSE 250 up 0.3%

Feb 29 (Reuters) - UK shares edged higher on Thursday, buoyed by a slew of positive earnings reports, while investor caution ahead of a key U.S. inflation print capped further gains.

The benchmark FTSE 100 index was up 0.2%, as of 0922 GMT, while the mid-cap FTSE 250 rose 0.3%.

Sensodyne toothpaste maker Haleon gained 7.7% after it said it expected higher revenue in 2024, thanks to firm demand for its household products.

Hedge fund Man Group rose 3.3% after posting a 17% rise in assets under management. Drax Group, the UK's largest source of renewable electricity, jumped 7.2% after posting a 66% jump in annual profit and raising its dividend.

The industrial miners index, heavyweights on the resource-heavy FTSE 100, was among the top sectoral performers, up 0.8%, tracking an uptick in base metal prices. The sector is, however, set to lose 8.4% in the month.

Recent solid domestic data and waning global bets around early interest rate cuts have dampened investor sentiment. The mid-cap index on course to lose 1.5% for the month, with the more internationally focussed FTSE 100 is poised to eke out a 0.1% rise in February.

Markets will now remain squarely focused on key inflation readings from the U.S. later in the day and from Europe on Friday for global monetary policy path cues.

Daniela Hathorn, senior market analyst at Capital.com, noted that while the direct impact of the data will be limited on UK equities, it will have a contagion effect.

"We're expecting inflation to be not too high but still remain elevated. It seems like good data is actually good for stocks because it validates the fact that we're seeing a soft landing,' Hathorn added.

Keeping gains in check, London Stock Exchange Group fell 2.6% after reporting its preliminary full-year income largely in line with estimates. Barclays was down 3.7% as the stock traded ex-dividend. (Reporting by Shristi Achar A in Bengaluru; Editing by Sohini Goswami and Janane Venkatraman)
