The board of Aberdeen UK Tracker Trust plc (AUKT) announced that it has agreed heads of terms with the board of BlackRock Income Strategies Trust plc (BIST) and Aberdeen Asset Management (Aberdeen) in respect of a future merger with BIST to be effected by way of a scheme of reconstruction. Subject to shareholder approvals, BIST will be renamed Aberdeen Diversified Income and Growth Trust plc (ADIGT). The boards of the company and BIST have agreed that, subject to regulatory consent, ADIGT will be managed by Aberdeen's Diversified Multi-Asset team led by Mike Brooks and supported by Tony Foster as lead portfolio managers. The boards of AUKT and BIST have agreed that the board of ADIGT will comprise three directors from the current board of AUKT and four directors from the current board of BIST. James Long will continue as Chairman of ADIGT and Kevin Ingram (the current Chairman of AUKT) will become the Senior Independent Director.
