Toshiki Kashihara, Takanori Kitayama (hereinafter referred to as 'Sun Trinity') has recently installed a carport-type solar power generation facility with a total capacity of approximately 15,000 kilowatts, the largest in Japan, in the outdoor parking lot of Aeon Mall's domestic commercial facility. We have concluded a comprehensive agreement (hereinafter referred to as the 'Agreement') for an on-site solar PPA (Note 1) to introduce a 'solar carport'.

This agreement targets 12 stores, one of which has an installed capacity of over 2,400 kilowatts, making it one of the largest solar carports installed at a single location in Japan. With this project as a starting point, AEON Mall and Sun Trinity will accelerate their collaboration to introduce solar carports to AEON Malls nationwide, aiming to start operating a total of 50 or more stores by 2025, and further expand the introduction thereafter. Solar carports are attracting increasing attention as an initiative to generate electricity from renewable energy (hereinafter referred to as 'renewable energy') by effectively utilizing parking lot space and installing rooftop and solar power generation equipment. In addition, since it serves as a sunshade on sunny days and as a rain shield on rainy days, it not only improves convenience for parking lot users, but also maximizes renewable energy while effectively utilizing the parking lot roof without destroying the natural environment. free renewable energy to cover approximately 18 million kilowatt hours, or the power consumption of approximately 4,300 ordinary households (Note 2) . Based on the 'Aeon Decarbonization Vision' formulated in 2018, Aeon will gradually switch to locally produced and locally consumed renewable energy (including PPA methods) while promoting the procurement of virtually CO2-free electricity at Aeon Malls by 2025, and by 2040 . We aim to achieve 100% self-sufficiency in locally produced and locally consumed renewable energy at our directly managed malls by 2020. In the future, we will continue to expand these efforts and also promote the use of wind power generation, hydrogen energy, storage batteries, etc., with the aim of operating our directly managed malls on 100% locally produced and locally consumed renewable energy by 2040. As a solar power generation business company, Sun Trinity utilizes the power business knowledge and extensive business base in Japan that its investors Sumitomo Corporation and Shikoku Electric Power have cultivated over many years to provide customers with optimal solar power generation solutions. We aim to provide renewable electricity and environmental value, and develop a capacity of over 1 GW by 2030.
