(Alliance News) - algoWatt Spa on Tuesday announced that Sundrone, a subsidiary of the group and Italy's leading provider of thermographic and visual inspections and surveys of photovoltaic plants using drones, has introduced its new topography service for photovoltaic plants.

Specifically, Sundrone can complement the aerial thermographic inspections of the plants it provides to its clients with essential services for the design and monitoring of photovoltaic plants, the company explained in a note.

The topographic surveys are carried out with a LIDAR drone, a remote sensing instrument that can determine the distance to an object or surface using a laser pulse.

According to the studies, "Sundrone is capable of examining and scanning very large terrains and returning complete topographies to the customer with point cloud, high-resolution ortho-mosaic, contour lines, plans and sections (GIS or CAD), digital terrain model (DTM) and digital terrain surface models (DSM), mission reports and photographic documentation," as the company described.

algoWatt on Tuesday closed in the green by 3.9 percent at EUR0.23 per share.
