More than 70 artisanal bakeries participated in this exciting contest, demonstrating their skill and creativity in the preparation of this essential food that is a symbol of pride for the community. This is an event that highlights the richness of the Peruvian baking culture and the diversity of flavors it offers.

Ongoing commitment to local bakers

The Tanta Raymi or Bread Festival has been possible for more than 30 years with the collaboration of the Municipality of Oropesa, the Association of Oropesa Bakers and Alicorp, who have worked hand in hand to carry out this event that celebrates passion and baking tradition. It is estimated that more than 10 thousand tourists came to the Chimpapampa stadium in Oropesa to enjoy the best versions of pan chuta.

David Espinoza, commercial director of Alicorp Soluciones, expressed his enthusiasm for the event: "For us, Tanta Raymi is a very special celebration. We are proud to be part of this alliance that promotes baking culture and that has helped Oropesa to become the 'National Capital of Bread'. This festival is a unique opportunity to show the diversity and quality of Peruvian baking products, as well as to highlight the talent of our artisanal bakers."

Oropesa bread: A national treasure

In Oropesa, Cusco, you can find more than 25 different varieties of bread, and most of them are made in the family ovens of this charming town. Among the most recognized delicacies is chuta bread, a large, round bread with a spongy crumb and a sweet flavor that delights all who try it. In addition, there is no shortage of other delicacies such as wawas, muffins, racks, and rolls that make Tanta Raymi a true feast for bread lovers.

In each edition of Tanta Raymi, Alicorp celebrates together with Oropesa and all of Peru the tradition and legacy of baking families. Here, bread becomes a symbol of tradition, flavor and community.
