Aperam posted a net loss of 42 million euros for the third quarter of 2023, compared with a net profit of 43 million in the previous quarter, while its EBITDA fell from 103 to 19 million, affected in particular by tighter prices and costs.

Still on a sequential basis, its sales fell by 14% to 1.46 billion euros on shipments down by more than 6% to 516.000 tonnes, due to persistently weak demand in Europe.

In terms of outlook for the fourth quarter, the manufacturer of stainless, electrical and specialty steels expects its EBITDA to increase on that of the third, and anticipates a reduction in its net financial debt.
