Arctic Paper and Rottneros announced that they have entered into an agreement on a joint venture, an investment of PLN 100 million in the production of moulded fiber trays. A 50/50-owned Polish company has been founded to establish production at Arctic Paper's Polish mill. The investment is based on the use of joint competences and synergies.

Rottneros contributes pulp and experience in the manufacture of fiber trays, while Arctic Paper lets premises in the existing plant advantageously located in Kostrzyn, Poland, close to the border with Germany. Production capacity is expected to reach some 80 million units per year, and the company expects to achieve a turnover of around PLN 60 million when at full capacity. Production, which is planned to start at the end of 2023, will focus on high-barrier packaging, but also on packaging with simpler functional requirements.
