LHV Pank has taken a step towards a greener future - as in December, the bank is offering better home loan conditions, not only for assets of energy class A but also for homes of energy class B.

According to Catlin Vatsel, the Head of LHV Private Financing at LHV, the bank has a strong commitment to support people in making environmentally friendly choices, even in difficult economic times. 'LHV launched green home loans three years ago, and today they account for 12.4 percent of all housing loans granted by LHV,' Vatsel notes.

'To support the creation of energy-efficient homes, we extended the preferential terms of the green home loan. Previously, a preferential interest rate of 1.69% only applied to energy class A homes plus Euribor, but now it also applies to the purchase or construction of new homes of energy class B,' Vatsel says.

Buildings of energy class A are known for their high cost and energy efficiency, being very well insulated and airtight. Such buildings use energy-efficient heating solutions and are able to generate and resell energy, often using solar panels. Compared to buildings of energy class A, buildings of energy class B are similar in terms of insulation, ventilation, and lighting solutions, but they do not usually produce their own energy. 'Both energy classes reflect the highest standards of modern construction, offering residents greater energy savings and lower maintenance costs,' Vatsel explains.

The aim of the green home loan is to encourage people to invest in greener housing, contributing to a more sustainable and greener future. The LHV green home loan is the bank's most affordable home loan, reflecting LHV's commitment to environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions.
