On Wednesday, Assa Abloy announced the acquisition of Messerschmitt Systems, a German manufacturer of access control equipment and software for the hotel industry.

Nico Delvaux, Managing Director of the Swedish group, explains that this acquisition is part of the company's strategy to strengthen its position in the most mature markets, by entering businesses related to its core markets.

Founded in 1985, Messerschmitt Systems employs around 100 people at its Schwaig site, east of Nuremberg. Its sales in 2023 were around 11 million euros.

Although the financial terms of the operation have not been disclosed, it should have a slightly dilutive effect on earnings per share (EPS), Assa Abloy points out.
