ASUSTeK Computer : ASUS Partners with Startups to Supercharge Sustainable Innovation

The Earth's temperature is rising, and the call for action is hotter than ever. That's why ASUS is pushing forward on green technology and creating innovations to mitigate the environmental impact of human activity. We're teaming up with the brightest minds from the startup world to tackle climate change and fuel an incredible, sustainable future - one innovation at a time.

This year, we joined forces with the Small- and Medium-Enterprise and Startup Administration (SMESA) of Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs and its international startup hub, Startup Terrace, for the 2023 Greentech Startup Challenge, a competition promoting green technology innovation. Over 260 proposals from around the world were submitted, each brimming with ideas for greener energy, cleaner manufacturing, and even AI-related solutions.

After a review process, 24 finalists eventually emerged, each with their own green solutions across diverse fields, including telecommunication, healthcare, retail, and more. On November 15th, the winners each received NTD$800,000 at the award ceremony to help them turn their visions into reality as well as being given the opportunity to become ecosystem partners with the participating companies. ASUS was also there to cheer the winners on, congratulating them on their innovative achievements.

But the race to green isn't a one-time sprint. ASUS is in it for the long haul and we have got other green gears turning. We have a corporate accelerator program that continuously seeks out new business opportunities and groundbreaking ideas in green technology, electric vehicle applications, and gamification experiences. Since September 2022, 29 proposals have been considered, and 12 are already powering through to the next stage.

Besides working with startups, we're also leading the charge on green R&D.
