Video game group Atari announced on Monday that it had finalized the acquisition of US-based Digital Eclipse, less than a week after making the deal official for $6.3 million.

The acquisition of Digital Eclipse, a Californian developer founded in 1992 and now specializing in the digitization of video game classics, will enable Atari to increase its production capacity and gain access to new proprietary technology.

As the transaction is partly financed by shares, Digital Eclipse shareholders will hold 4.6% of Atari's capital, with the vast majority of them having undertaken to hold their shares for at least one year.
