Media Release 24 February 2012 IN MEMORIAM - SHANE O'NEILL

AUSTAR is saddened by the news that Mr Shane O'Neill has passed away at the age of 50 after a prolonged illness.
Mr O'Neill was an AUSTAR Board Director from January 2005 to September 2011, stepping down due to illness. Mr O'Neill was a friend, and provided valuable counsel to the Board and AUSTAR's Senior Management. Mr O'Neill's humour, passion and energy will be greatly missed.
Mr O'Neill was most recently Chief Strategy Officer with Liberty Global, Inc. overseeing the company's strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate development activities. Mr O'Neill was also President of Chellomedia, Liberty Global's content division and is responsible for LGI Ventures, the group's investment arm. Mr O'Neill played a passionate role as founder of the Chello Foundation, which today provides educational opportunities
for thousands of HIV orphans in Africa.
Australia had a very important place in Mr O'Neill's life. In 1985 Mr O'Neill relocated to Sydney from Ireland and enjoyed a 10 year career in investment banking with Macquarie Bank and Goldman Sachs. Before moving to London Mr O'Neill made Australia his second home and made many lifelong friends.
