Yesterday, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, made a noteworthy visit to
Bakkafrost, a leading salmon company based in the Faroe Islands. The visit was a part of her one-day
itinerary to the Faroe Islands.
During her visit, President von der Leyen had the opportunity to tour Bakkafrost's state-of-the-art
facilities and witness firsthand the company's commitment to sustainable salmon farming. Bakkafrost
is renowned for its innovative approach to aquaculture, prioritizing environmental sustainability,
animal welfare, and the production of high-quality salmon products.
