Beam Global shares were up 9% to $7.05 after the company said that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security placed a $4.8 million order for 47 Beam EV ARC sustainable off-grid charging systems and 16 ARC Mobility trailers.

The stock hit its 52-week low of $5 on Dec. 8, and is down 61% in the past 12 months.

The company said EV ARC systems will be deployed to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Customs Border Patrol, Coast Guard, Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers and Secret Service.

The DHS charging systems will be deployed throughout the U.S. The Beam EV ARC systems are off-grid and powered by renewable energy, generating and storing their own clean electricity.
