Birla Corporation Limited reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2023. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was INR 23,120 million compared to INR 20,161.1 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 23,283.1 million compared to INR 20,240 million a year ago. Net income was INR 1,091.4 million compared to net loss of INR 499.1 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 14.17 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of INR 6.48 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 14.17 compared to diluted loss per share from continuing operations of INR 6.48 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was INR 70,062.9 million compared to INR 62,197 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 70,661.7 million compared to INR 62,836.4 million a year ago. Net income was INR 2,272.2 million compared to net loss of INR 444.5 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 29.51 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of INR 5.77 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 29.51 compared to diluted loss per share from continuing operations of INR 5.77 a year ago.
Birla Corporation Limited is an India-based holding company. The Company operates through three segments: Cement, Jute and Others. The Company is primarily engaged in the manufacturing of cement and clinker. It is also engaged in the manufacturing of jute products and steel castings. Its cement products have applications in industrial buildings, dams, cooling towers and bridges, among others. It manufactures varieties of cement, such as ordinary portland cement (OPC-43 & 53 grades), portland pozzolana cement (PPC-fly ash-based), portland slag cement (PSC), sulphate resistant cement and composite cement.
