Utilizing a low-power Bluetooth technology that leverages Apple's iBeacon™ protocol, beacons broadcast a proximity-specific signal to smart devices such as an iPhone or Android. These small, wireless transmitters are strategically placed throughout retail locations to deliver store-centric information and alerts to shoppers.

Leveraging this technology, retailers not only engage and interact with customers, but store visitors can enjoy a tailored shopping experience to higher satisfaction and a quicker path-to-purchase journey. Unlike most battery powered beacons available today, Blue Calypso has developed an AC-powered model that conveniently plugs into an electrical outlet, extending its lifecycle while making the administration and maintenance process easier for retailers. The beacons can also be powered by a re-chargeable battery if AC power is not available in desired beacon locations.
