OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Chesapeake Energy Corp. (CHK) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $569 million.

On a per-share basis, the Oklahoma City-based company said it had profit of $4.02. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to $1.31 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 42 cents per share.

The oil and gas company posted revenue of $1.95 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $763 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $2.42 billion, or $16.92 per share. Revenue was reported as $3.55 billion.
