Lekkas is currently vice chairman, Europe and Middle East, investment banking and also head of corporate banking and investment Banking for Citibank Europe. He will continue working until May 31.

Lekkas could not be immediately reached for comment.

The spokesperson said that the bank thanked him for his years of service and wished him well on his retirement.

Lekkas joined the U.S. bank in 2011, having previously worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Last September, Lekkas was named a new co-head of its banking, capital markets and advisory division for continental Europe with Patrick Frowein, Bloomberg reported.
