SAXONBURG, Pa. (AP) — SAXONBURG, Pa. (AP) — Coherent Corp. (COHR) on Monday reported a loss of $13.2 million in its fiscal third quarter.

The Saxonburg, Pennsylvania-based company said it had a loss of 29 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 53 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 42 cents per share.

The Laser and optics manufacturer posted revenue of $1.21 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.17 billion.

For the current quarter ending in June, Coherent expects its per-share earnings to range from 52 cents to 68 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $1.23 billion to $1.32 billion for the fiscal fourth quarter.

Coherent expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.56 to $1.73 per share, with revenue ranging from $4.62 billion to $4.7 billion.
