BERLIN, N.H. - April 25, 2024 - Fidium Fiber is now available to more than 7,600 homes and businesses in Berlin, Gorham, Randolph and Shelburne, N.H. With the expansion of Fidium's future-proof all-fiber network complete, residents can now connect to symmetrical multi-gig internet speeds and all the benefits that come with access to high-speed fiber connection.

"The City of Berlin is pleased to see fiber expansion into Berlin and surrounding communities," said Pamela LaFlamme, director of strategic initiatives and assistant city manager for the City of Berlin. "This is a big step for our residents in being able to access fiber for the home at affordable, competitive prices. Getting coverage to residents who have access to only expensive and unreliable options for connectivity is overdue as the internet has become just as necessary as electricity and heat for our communities, especially here in the North Country. We are looking forward to the area having this service available and the impact it will have."

The project has been partially funded by a $40 million is provided by grant funding from the New Hampshire Department of Businesses and Economic Affairs.

"With expanded fiber access, the future is bright for these communities," said Jeffrey McIver, senior manager of government relations for Consolidated Communications. "Fiber brings tremendous benefits and transforms how we connect to one another, increasing access to educational, economic, healthcare and entertainment opportunities and options. We are excited to build the future together with these communities, and to bring the benefits of Fidium Fiber to local residents and businesses."

Today, more than 248,000 New Hampshire homes and businesses have access to Fidium Fiber, with additional expansion planned for local communities.
