Dollar General reports a 38.2% drop in EPS to $1.83 for its fourth fiscal quarter, on sales down 3.4% to $9.9 billion, but up 0.7% on a same-store basis.

"Given the growth in traffic and market share gains during the quarter, we believe our actions are resonating with customers", comments Todd Vasos, CEO of the distribution group.

With EPS of $7.55 and revenues up 2.2% for the full year, Dollar General's target ranges are $6.80 to $7.55 and 6 to 6.7% respectively for the year ahead.
